Swimming Classes

by Emma G 19. August 2009 13:56

Hi I have been doing lots of research into extra curricular activites and have come up with two new ideas, and would love to hear what you think! The first being a cookery class that Jane our cook would run possibly on a Friday afternoon. The second being swimming lessons. We were thinking of going to Arthur Hill swimming pool which is based on  the Kings Road so just a stones throw away. This activity would be aimed at The Dancing Deer. There would be an additional charge which would be around £4.10 each week but I think this is quite reasonable for such a new exciting activity. Please give me some ideas of your thoughts so we can arrange to do this for september.

Both sound like great ideas, both being options that all the Deers would love I think! Swimming lessons sound fantastic, I'd be happy to pay extra for to get Ro more confident going in the water if not learning to actually swim!

Agree both sound good - how would you manage the swimming though with the Dancing Deer - I know Sebastian does not have much confidence at all so I'm not even sure if you could get him in the water without an adult???

We would possible work on a one to two ratio, but im working with our Health and Safety people to work out the Risk Assessment and of course if Sebastian or anyone else really didn't want to do it we wouldn't make them. Work in progress i'll keep you updated on what we will be doing.

HI Emma
I think these are both great ideas - especially the swimming - Louie is very confident in water and has just started to take the first steps without arm bands - lessons would be great and I would happily pay this cost every week.
Thanks

hi Emma.. a great idea..but I am not sure how confident Shraddha would be in trying out this new activity... I would appreciate if she could be allowed to take her sweet own time in overcoming her initial inhibitions.. Am confident that you and everyone at nursery would take care of it Smile

Hi I have been doing more research into the swimming lesson's it may cost slightly more than what I have previously put on due to the high ratio's of team members, but again I will keep you all posted.

Hi just an update on the swimming classes, unfortunatley we are not going to be able to go any further with the swimming lessons as Arthur Hill were unable to find us a coach So sorry about this! I am now looking into doing needle work/tapestry lessons so if anyone knows anyone who would be interested in helping us do this whether this is a member of the family or a friend please do let me know.
