festive cooking

At the deers cooking lesson the children made mince pies. First we made the pastry by mixing lots of ingredients in a big bowl. Jane helped us form it into a big dough ball. We then all had a go at rolling it out flat. We used flower shape cutters to cut out the base so that when they cooked they formed pretty shapes. We all had a spoon each to spoon in some mince meat (the fruit kind) into each flower shape. Then to finish it off we cut out heart shaped pastry to pop on top. They look deliscious. Jane took them upstairs to cook and then we get to bring them home. Yum Yum!!!!
