Thank you for your support last week and your thanks for us being open. I’m sure I’m not alone when I looked out of my window today and was surprised with the snow again – we thought it was going to start thawing by the end of the week but the whole team has done a great job today as everyone is in – well done! As many of you may know the schools have shut today again.
You won’t believe the number of late night and very early morning conversations we’ve been having over the last week, scouring the internet for information, so we can make the most informed decision. We have thought long and hard about what to do later and have decided to shut the nursery at 3pm this afternoon (this is not a decision that we take lightly), this is so that it gives everyone who is walking a chance to get home on the icy pavements whilst it is still light. The roads were an absolute nightmare this morning with car crashes all over the place and we are anticipating the worst again, as everyone gets in their cars to head home again. The buses have also been canceled and we have quite a few of the team that have to get out of Reading and we are making alternative arrangements for them at the moment. This is a really difficult one to balance but with this continued bad weather Rebecca and I are genuinely starting to get worried about the team, as it is taking some of them two hours to get into work and then the same in the evening and that’s when people start to get really exhausted.
We will be open tomorrow and are planning to talk to you about your planned time for getting in, as it is forecast to snow overnight again. The link to the weather FYI is here Thank you for your support one more.
