This week some of our tadpoles have grown front and back legs and two are now hopping up the tank like our very own baby frogs!
The children have loved looking and noticing the changes.
We are now covering our two phonic letters over two weeks rather than one. This fortnight we are covering letters “G g” & “H h”. This will help encourage repetition, enable us to plan and implement creative activities such as: using “green” paint to create a “grass” picture and using junk modelling to create and build a “house”.
The repetition of such activities and interactions help children’s brain reinforce the existing connections and make new ones.
To help achieve the same learning outcomes at home you may like to try the following ideas.
Try top find objects around the home and when out and about with your child that begin with the “G g” & “H h”, point to them and if you cannot physically bring them in to share at nursery you could always write the words down, so we can discuss and use them during one of our circle times – children love having something to share with their mummy and daddy!
