Team Changes

I am please to welcome Sarah to the Wigwam. Sarah has taken over the role of Room Leader in Turtles and will work alongside Shana and Sophie in the room. Sarah has many years of childcare experience and we are excited for her to bring her ideas and passion to the Wigwam.

Toddletown (Chiswick) gains “Outstanding” Ofsted rating

Our sister nursery Toddletown, in Chiswick, recently had their Ofsted inspection and I am pleased to say they received Ofsted’s highest grading of Outstanding. Toddletown is owned and managed by Urvashi O’Connor, Director of The Wigwam. It’s a great achievement for the Toddletown team and we are looking forward to learning and sharing ideas with them in order to continue to improve practice at the Wigwam.

East Bonnet Parade

Thank you to everyone who turned out for our Easter Bonnet celebrations. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side but we still made the most of the occasion with parties held in the rooms. Everyone made a fantastic effort with the Bonnets and there were some amazing creations on show!

It was great to see so many of you there and I know the children really enjoy having you in the setting with them.

Keep an eye out for future events at The Wigwam!

Sharing home learning on ILD

Sharing learning between the Wigwam and home plays a really important part in us supporting your child’s learning and development. We are always keen to see what the children get up to whilst at home and we can use this information against the EYFS developmental milestones. This in turn means we can monitor progress and plan fun and exciting learning opportunities which really engage, challenge and support your child.

Using the ILD app is a quick and easy way to upload observations from home, so please do have a go!

Bringing food into the Nursery

Could we please ask that the children do not come into the Nursery with food from home. Due to a number of children with allergies and intolerances in the setting it is important that we know exactly what food is consumed within the setting and the contents of any food.

As such we respectfully ask that children do not come in eating food from home, or with food in their bags or pockets.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Email Address Update

Just a reminder to everyone that the nursery email addresses have changed and all nursery staff’s email address now end with @thewigwamnursery.co.uk.

In order to ensure we receive and promptly reply to your email please do make sure you are using the @thewigwamnursery.co.uk and are no longer using the @smallisbeautiful email addresses.

Pram Shed Entrance

Please could we remind anyone who uses the pram shed to be mindful that this is also a fire exit. Therefore, please ensure that prams are stored away, keeping a clear exit. If possible, we would appreciate if prams are collapsed down, we have limited storage space for pushchairs and doing so ensures we keep the fire exit clear.

We are aware that the door to the road through the pram shed has not always been closing automatically behind people when used. This issue should have now been resolved but please do take extra time to check doors are closed behind you. If you notice a problem please let a practitioner know.
