Testimonals

Here at The Wigwam Day Nursery we believe one of the best ways to find the right childcare is through other parents’ recommendations. We know that we provide a wonderful nurturing environment, where learning through play makes every day enjoyable for the children.

We think we’re the best nursery in Reading, but don’t just take our word for it…

Very Good Memories

I am very pleased with the choice we made regarding the nursery for our son. During the 3 years that our son stayed at the Wigwam nursery, the team really spent a lot of time and effort to understand the needs of our son and to adapt the activities and food offering to those needs. I really liked the focus child weeks, where we had the chance to discuss our child's development and to work together with the staff on the support mechanisms and new goals to nurture the development of our son. The staff were always very accommodating, caring and friendly. They organise different activities throughout the year and also I found the parent's portal to be very useful. On this portal, we could see notes, videos and pictures of our son's adventures at the nursery. After 3 years, our son has developed a lot of attachment to the staff and other kids that attend this nursery and I'm sure he has built very good memories from his time there.

The Staff Helped Make Him The Person He Is Today

My son really had the best time there. The staff will remain an important part of his childhood and their genuine care have helped tremendously to make him the person he is today. The kids do plenty of activities inside and outside the nursery and the settings of the room is perfect for children of all age to enjoy their day. I am particularly grateful with the staff support considering my son's story: He started at the Wigwam day nursery in September 2016 at 1 and a half years old. My son was already showing worrying signs of developmental delays and was allergic to pretty much every food. Still, he was welcomed to the Wigwam with open arms and we got to brainstorm with the staff a tailor-made menu to suit his dietary requirements. Fast-forward 3 years, my son always looks forward to going to the nursery, have plenty of friends (including staff) and has no more developmental delays or more allergies.

Sad to Leave!

My son started at Wigwam when he was 11 months old, and continued on to 4 years old before he started school. He started on 3 days a week and we increased this to 4 days in his last year. Before we joined the nursery, I met the key staff and visited a session, one of the team came to meet me at home to see my son. He settled very quickly, the staff were kind and caring. I was reassured that they would care for him and make sure he enjoyed every day. He joined in the dancing and french lessons. He loved playing on the indoor climbing frame and he napped outside in a covered buggy. He made some good friends and couldn't wait to see them every day. He loved the outdoor play area. The nursery has its own kitchen and he had all his meals there. He never came home hungry and loved sitting at the table with the other children. The nursery is very good at matching key workers and children. One of the reasons I chose Wigwam was the wide experience of the team. We were very happy, sad to leave.

Very friendly

“As a parent you always worry when you leave your child with complete strangers but from day one we have never needed to worry as from day one the Nursery’s delivery from end to end is a parents dream. Initial home visit before the child starts nursery is fantastic. The warmth that you feel when you speak to any of the staff gives you the confidence that we made the correct decision. Other nurseries in our area didn’t come close, as number one for us was knowing she was safe…”

Fantastic food

“Small, friendly, personal service and fantastic food – my children love The Wigwam and so do I. The recent change to 7am – 7pm opening has changed my life – instead of the stressful race to get back from work and worry about traffic, I now have a stress free drive, safe in the knowledge the children will be happily playing when I get there, even if it’s after 6pm. Because it’s a small nursery the staff know all of the children and parents really well so everyone you talk to talks about your child with real personal knowledge and insight. I’ve also been impressed with The Wigwam’s record of developing their people. Since my children have been there, I’ve watched various members of staff grow in confidence, gain qualifications and be rewarded with promotion. It’s great to see good performance encouraged and rewarded in this way…”

A MASSIVE thank you!

“I just thought I’d take some time to email in to say a huge thank you to everyone that has helped Imogen settle into nursery as well as she has. A MASSIVE thank you has to go to your staff who quite honestly have been amazing. Going back to work and leaving Imogen was such a huge decision for me, finding such a wonderful nursery school with such warm, caring and dedicated staff has made the decision right. Knowing that Imogen is so happy and genuinely seems to be enjoying herself is proof of all their hard work and dedication.”

Safe hands

“Thank you for being an important part of our life over the last 6 years. The care you have given to Alice and Caitlin has been brilliant and we’ll all miss you very much. The girls have thoroughly enjoyed their time at the nursery and it was so much better for me at work knowing they were in such safe hands. You have helped their characters to develop and set them both up well for school. We wish you all lots of success in the future.”
